Mike was a joy to work with! Being a photographer myself, I was very picky about who to hire to shoot my wedding. I could tell from Mike's portfolio that he had a great eye and was technically an excellent photographer. He shoots beautiful landscape and nature images that really translate into gorgeous outdoor wedding photos. As we were getting married outside in a huge field, I knew I could use this to my advantage. Plus, he shoots mostly natural light - which is exactly my style. On top of all of this, Mike was very kind and easy to work with. Leading up to the event he was organized and responsive and after the event, he quickly delivered our images. On my wedding day, he was very relaxed and we barely noticed (like a fly on the wall), yet he was always in the right spot at the right time to catch all of the best moments of the day. My family loved him and he even volunteered to take my dog in his car to our ceremony so she didn't jump on my dress (ha)! I recommend him to many of my friends in the area and have even hired him to shoot an event with me because I think he is that phenomenal! I'd hire him again as my wedding photographer in an instant. :)

BEST PHOTOGRAPHER EVER, in every way. I can't say enough about wonderful Mike is to work with, and how great the photography is. I run the Bay Area Book Festival, a major literary festival in Berkeley, and Mike has been our lead photographer, providing everything from glamour shots at a Gala to crowd shots to photographs of talent in venues where the lighting is difficult. Mike's photos are always our favorites, not only gorgeous but useful --- the ones we use again and again in our publications and on our website. He has a special talent for unusual "beauty shots" that creatively express exactly what we want. Mike takes great care to understand in advance what we want and why we want it... and then delivers. Want to capture the special spirit you're seeking? Mike can do it. I also want to comment on Mike's professionalism. He is absolutely reliable. He is super organized. For us, he organizes a team of photographers to cover hundreds of interviews/panels, exhibitors, and outdoor features over one weekend. Not only does he get it all done, but everyone loves working with him -- all while he himself is contributing superb photos. In personal interaction style, he is generous in every way. Importantly, he's not intrusive -- whether that's photographing people getting married or capturing sensitive talent at an event -- and yet he gets what we need. People feel at ease with him. I trust him with our most important moments. He also sorts through the photos, organizes a system, and delivers them all to us fast -- extraordinarily fast. He has the most to do of anyone on our photography team (since he's in charge of it) but beats everyone else in editing and delivering the images. It's a pleasure to provide this review. Anyone considering hiring a photographer for anything -- weddings, other events, portraits, corporate photography, whatever -- would be very happy with Mike.

Mike was an exceptional photographer to work with! He was on-time (early, in fact) and stayed with through the entire wedding, from start to finish. He had excellent communication with us from the moment of first contact, until we said our good-byes at the end of the night. HIRE HIM!!! Seriously! You won't regret it. Mike did such an amazing job capturing our vision for our engagement session. He asked me what I wanted, I told him, and he delivered. Our pictures look like something out of a magazine, which was the effect I wanted. Mike was so patient and kind, which made shooting with him a breeze.
